General Team Responsibilities:
- Your #1 responsibility is to be proactive in your work and not depend on constant supervision.
- Respond quickly to email and text communication and meet in person up to 1x per week.
- Be ready to talk to the general public on assignments. If this is uncomfortable, be willing to develop that skill.
- Be willing to learn professionalism through verbal and email communication and to take direction from a supervisor with a good attitude.
- Be willing to finish work on occasional tight deadlines even if you are in school.
Sales Overview: (2-3 Spots Open)
- This is the only position that starts as a paid internship, however, it is 100% commission-based. You will make a percentage of your sales which includes memberships or advertising.
- This position is best for those who have a natural talent for sales, conversational skills, and meeting new people with an outgoing and positive attitude.
- You’ll need to be willing to go door to door to different businesses or occasionally mix in phone or email sales. You’ll have a list of leads that you’ll work with.
Editorial Overview: (2-3 Spots Open)
- Your main responsibility will be to write articles and stories for the blog. Some examples of articles will be covering local events, interviewing locals for interesting and positive stories. Read more here.
- You’ll collaborate with the media and social team.
- Your attention to detail in terms of grammar, punctuation, and posting accurate information is critical.
- You’ll be asked to meet the general public and attend some events.
- You’ll be responsible for 1 article per week.
- You have the opportunity to make sales commission as well.
Social Media Overview: (1-2 Spots Open)
- Your main responsibility will be to manage our social media page, schedule out social posts, respond to interactions, hold a social media calendar, and work with the content team to post content. This is one of the few positions who can work almost exclusively from your phone or computer.
- We will want to see examples of your social posts. You’ll need to know how to post on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Bonus points if you’ve had experience with posting social media content for a business.
- Your attention to detail in terms of grammar, punctuation, and posting accurate information is paramount.
- You have the opportunity to make sales commission as well.
Photography/Videography Overview (2-3 Spots Open)
- Your main responsibility will be to go to events and other opportunities around town with your camera. Many of these events will take place in the evenings and weekends.
- If you’re a videographer, your job will be to edit it in Capcut, and once approved by management, you’ll work with the social media intern to post on socials.
- We’re specifically looking for someone with a special interest in pursuing this as a career and who take this seriously. Owning a DSLR is a plus but could be fine with a new phone. Portrait and event photography are a plus. You will be asked to share examples of your work.
- You have the opportunity to make sales commission as well.
Marketing Coordinator Overview: (1-2 Spots Open)
- The marketing position is specifically for someone who is very detail-oriented and loves organization.
- Tech savvy enough to understand new software quickly (Canva, social media, website, etc.)
- Communicate well and respond quickly to emails and texts, and a generally positive attitude. If you don’t know how to do something, you’re the kind of person who will figure it out until you get it.
- This job is a little less specific than the positions above, as your job will be to oversee the operations of what is needed, what’s happening around town, and to help deploy the right staff person to complete the job.
- You’re the one who will be looking for partnerships, sponsorships, advertising opportunities, big-picture ideas, as well as minute details. You’ll have your hands in all of the skills above, and help Dickson Living grow to the next level by focusing on revenue-generating activities.
